The First Weekend Away...
How old was your child the first time you left him/her overnight? Ours was 23 months old...that's almost two! He had a blast at Granny and Grandpa's house AND Grandma and Grandpa's house (which he usually just calls 'Jordan's house' :) ) So what were Britt's parents doing while he stayed in Snowflake?...we were at a rock concert, of course! My first one since I was 7 months pregnant! Justin has been so patient to only go to 2 or 3 shows with his friends and brother in the last two years. Seriously, that's the longest stretch since we were 15 or 16. Anyway, we added 3 more great bands to the list of bands we've seen, which makes for a grand total of...well...we lost track shortly after 100... It was an awesome weekend though! We had a blast and even got some Christmas shopping done. We got to see some of our friends, and we remembered what it was like to just get out of the car without having to: unbuckle a carseat, get the diaper-bag, put Britt's shoes back on, chase after the bouncy ball he just threw out the car door, get his "surfboard"(or whatever other toy he wants to drag around that day) and hear for ten minutes how he saw a cat fifteen minutes ago...-doesn't he sound so cute though? actually, we missed him a lot, but it's so nice to know he was having fun getting spoiled by his grandparents.

The opening band is called 'The Blood Arm'...although, their arms weren't a bit bloody :)

They were followed by a British group called 'Art Brut'...and yes, their drummer played standing up!

Finally, 'The Hold Steady'...what a show!

Yeah! I'm glad you guys had a fun weekend! How did Britt do? We haven't left Ellee overnight yet--really, we've only ever left her a few times to go to the temple. We haven't even gone on a date! We need to do that one of these days! It's just kind of hard when you don't have family nearby--but, we've made a couple of friends...so maybe one of these days...
Art Brut + The Hold Steady = Wrap your face in foil so it doesn't get melted off.
Looks like you guys had a fun time Bri!! It was always really weird to me to leave the kids overnight. But kind of nice too, like you mentioned. And nope, I haven't heard of those bands, but they look cool!! Good for you guys!!! :D
Oh, Britt barely knew we were gone. There were a few times when he'd bring the phone to someone and say "dad" or "mama" (meaning he wanted to talk to us on the phone) but other than that, I think he was too busy eating candy and getting slushies at Sonic to notice we were gone. :)
oh, and I forgot my foil, so...my face?...melted off entirely! It's a good thing there are a ton of plastic surgeons in Scottsdale!
Hi Brianna!
I still can't get over how adorable Britt is! He's going to have all of the girls after him when he gets older! It was good hearing from you the other day! I finally updated our blog - threebresees.blogspot.com.
See you around Christmas time!
You guys had great seats for the concerts! I think Dad and I went 8 years one time without leaving you guys home. But then we had to pay someone to babysit you hunyacks! But it was worth it! That was when we lived here. In Mesa it was nice to have family near to babysit. I enjoyed having the little guy around. At least I get to hear someone play my piano. Oh yeah, my bill is in the mail.
WHAT! Did you come to the valley and not even call me? I can't believe that. Just kiddin I am glad that you guys got some time to yourselves. That is always nice. Justin actually watched Ryken for me the other day and Me and his sis went and got a pedicure. NICE! Well we all miss ya!
How fun to get away! I'm glad you got so have a "free" weekend. I still haven't left Brynn overnight. I know she would be fine without me, but I don't know how I would do without her. :)
