A 'Goodbye' slide show
We've had a few big 'goodbyes' in the last few days. Yesterday my brother Beau left for basic training. He's going to Kentucky for a few months for that, then he'll go to Houston, Texas for some special medical training. After that he's an official Combat Medic for the US Army. Of all the Army jobs to have, that is undoubtedly the coolest. :) It's going to be seriously weird not having him here though. He's been living right down the road from us since I was pregnant with Britt. It was so fun to have him and Justin work at the same hospital for a while too. Britt has a special connection with his Uncle Beau (probably from all the time they spent walking the halls during Sacrament Meeting looking for chicks.) The first name Britt said was, "Beau." He's such an awesome guy and I can't wait to hear all about his new experiences.
The other big goodbye we had was with Britt's fish, Ciccio. A few days ago Britt told me, "Ciccio's sick," and sure enough, he wasn't swimming around or even moving. I told Britt, "yeah, sweetie, Ciccio is sick." to which Britt replied, "Ciccio, medees?" (which is how Britt says medicine) I guess I could have dropped a chewable Tylenol in there, but it wouldn't have done much. So, after I was sure, I told Britt that Ciccio had died. It was kind of weird because Britt was quiet for a second, then said, "Ciccio fishy, died." We had a traditional burial at sea... I just hope Britt isn't afraid to use the potty now, because he might pee-pee on Ciccio...

We are all so sad that Beau is leaving...I am so proud of him for doing all this but.....he will sure be missed. I tried talking him into starting a blog once he is moved in and all that, but he just laughed at me! I am going to miss him the most probably. He was such a good friend of mine, as well as Brett's ofcourse! Jade LOVED when he came over she could get him to do WHATEVER!!! ha ha Anyways happy he is finally doing what he wants to do!
P.s. sorry Britt about the fish, I think those are one of the hardest "pets" to keep alive. ha ha
Oh man! You just got me all emotional! I'm so bummed I didn't take ANY pictures with Beau while I was there. I'm such a dork! But, I'm glad you did! And, I'm glad he has his beloved shirt to wear. :) So funny! Bytheway...love your hair! Did you just cut bangs or all of it? It's really cute! And, sorry about the fishy. Poor Britt. But, I will say I'm VERY impressed he lived this long. That's like 90 in fish years, isn't it? :)
POOR BRITT! I feel for him and losing his fish. I hope he isn't scared of the potty too. I am even scared sometimes after I flush a spider. :) And that stinks that beau is leaving too. But it sounds like he is going to be having some fun doing what he likes to do right?
Great pictures Bri!!! And your hair does look SO CUTE!!!
I'm so sorry for Britt. :( Poor little guy... Hopefully he won't have any trouble pee-peeing on Ciccio. ;) And I get what Cara means by being afraid after flushing a bug. Whenever I flush a cockroach (which luckily isn't very often!) I literally flush the toilet at least 3 times! I have these horrible visions of the cockroach clawing its way back up the sewer pipe and into the toilet and then attacking me when I sit down! Eeewwwwww!!! I HATE cockroachs!!!
I hope you guys will be able to handle all the sadness brought about by these sad goodbyes. Chocolate is always a good helper with that... :)
Sadness.
I guess Beau and Ciccio need to move on to places where they can help more people (or at least Beau...Ciccio just got bored of swimming circles, got a headache, and gave up the fishy ghost).
Well...at least Britt's other uncles (who he will now have to learn the names of) will be within driving distance to offer support...that is...you need to come visit!
I think that our toilets must be linked by the way. Whenever you flushed your toilet and sent Ciccio to that big cemetary at sea to sleep with the bigger fishes...our toilet started crying and told us that they hate to be part of that process. Apparently toilets are more than just porceline, flushing seats. They have feelings and want us to appreciate them. Some have called them thrones. Britt will forever know them as the portal between life and the great fishy heaven beyond. Hopefully he doesn't think to send food or belongings to Ciccio. Where he's going, they don't need much...I hope you've explained this to Britt.
As for Beau, we are all so proud of him and happy for him. He has wanted this so bad, and we've been praying that he could have this blessing. I'm so grateful and proud to be his brother. He's got an amazing heart and I'm so lucky to know him. He's not an easy guy to get to open up...but if you're around long enough...pure treasure becomes obvious. We wish him all the best. Maybe when he's out saving lives, he'll cross the oceans and see Ciccio somewhere swimming with the dolphins...or will it be with the sharks? Was he a peaceful or aggressive fishy?
Well...love to Britty and all y'all. Keep up the excellent work blogstyle:)
Your hair really does look cute. Where did you find your cute background??? Good luck to Beau... I have a brother in the army too!
Thanks for all the comments about my hair...all I did was trim my bangs. :)
The crazy thing about that fish is, I had a betta when I was a kid and he lived for like 3 years! This one only lasted a few months! I guess I lost my touch...
Blake, you know that Britt knows your name too! He always talks to "Geek" and "Dett" on his pretend phone. :) Sometimes he throws in a "Reesee" too.
Meg, I got my background at matiekay.blogspot.com. There's a link on my page somewhere. And I remember reading about your brother in the Army...they have the CUTEST blog title ever!
