Seeds, cake, and a superhero
You may remember my ode to Britt's sunflowers a few weeks ago. Last week we decided it was time to harvest some of the sunflower seeds. It was fun! I got a kick out of Justin chopping the flowers down with an ax (although, they were the size of small trees, so he had no other option). Britt learned an important lesson from us during the process of collecting, soaking and roasting the seeds, and now whenever he doesn't know how to do something he suggests that we "just google it." :)
We collected seeds from two sunflowers... so that means 2 down, 23 to go!
This week was my birthday which finally gave me a good reason to make a carrot cake (I have been craving one for 2 weeks, but just couldn't justify making two in a month). Everyone needs a superhero to help them blow out the candles. :) P.S. look how light MJ's hair is getting!
Who hasn't walked into their kitchen to find Wolverine enjoying a Crush Cup? :)

Wow! Those sunflower seeds look SO GOOD! Did you grow a specific type of sunflowers or something? Cuz--we have some sunflowers around here and they didn't get NEAR that big or get any seeds. How did you do it? And, I love seeing a superhero in my kitchen sittin' on a toilet eating my food. :) Ellee LOVES seeing him dressed like that. "Das Bitt Superhero!" And, cute picture of you with the kids and your yummy cake. Marnie's hair is getting really light!
I was just thinking how I cannot wait to carve a pumpkin so I can have the seeds, but sunflower seeds are so much better. I think I can always justify (somewhere some how) a carrot cake. Oh I love the "lets google it". Glad to know that I am not the only one that googles everything.

Looks like good times Breezers! We have never had a superhero in our kitchen...sounds like Britt needs to make a trip! And just so you know...you are ALWAYS invited to see us or hang out with us pretty much anytime or anywhere. We would love to see you guys and see if Marnie's hair is really that light or if it's trick photography...if you don't know what that is...have Britt 'google it!' :)
