honesty

As we walked out to the car, I carried Marnie and explained to Britt why he didn't need a treat every time we went to the store. Marnie gave me a strange look and leaned close to my face. Britt climbed into his booster seat and as I buckled Marnie into her car seat she kept the strange expression on her face and said, "mom, Mickey Mouse." I was a little confused and said, "you see Mickey Mouse somewhere?" she replied, "no, YOU Mickey Mouse." I, thinking I had it figured out, said, "oh, I sound like Mickey Mouse?" She shook her head and said, "no, Mom, YOU MEEENKY MOUSE!" and put her hand on my mouth then plugged her nose and said "pee-yuu!" Sooooo, apparently I had a stinky mouth (bad breath). We went to the store and I stocked up on mints, gum, and mouth wash. :)

Oh my goodness! This story is hilarious! You're brave to post it. :) Maybe I'm glad Emelyn doesn't talk yet. With Elliott gone for the past few months...I haven't put as much effort into how I look or smell. (I do still shower! Don't get me wrong here.) So...yeah...thank goodness she doesn't talk! :) I love Marnie! Her talking really does amaze me. I get a LOT of facial expressions and sounds from Emelyn, but I have no clue what she means. Oh well...it'll happen soon enough and then it'll be scary what she tells me! :)
