4 refreshing days of fun

First off...is it me, or are these kids ridiculously good looking? :)

His freckles make me swoon.

Bands #254 and 255 (just guessing) on our list:

Local Natives...

Arcade Fire

Kaitlynn's baby bump looked too adorable at the concert, so I had to snap a picture. :) We can't wait to meet the sweet little boy living inside there. Less than 3 months till we do! :)

After the concert, we got to meet and chat with the guys in Local Natives. Definitely a highlight of the trip.

Kaitlynn and I with Ryan and Taylor

And with Kelcey

We enjoyed another half-day of sunshine and shopping, then Justin and I drove back to the mountains to pick the kids up from Grandma's so we could go back to Phoenix for...

Record Store Day!

It's the best holiday around for music nerds like us. Tons of bands issue limited edition (sometimes as little as 200 made) albums, and there are bands playing free shows at most all of the record stores. We went with our favorite record store, Stinkweeds. We got lucky and found the limited releases we wanted most. Britt got a Record Store Day action figure, which comes with his own record. :)

Britt checked out some new tunes at the listening stations in Stinkweeds.

Marnie and Dad watching Menomena set up onstage.

Music's playing...time to dance! :)

After picking up a freshly printed T-shirt from the screen printing tent, Britt used it for a little shade during Menomena's set.

Check it out next year. It's seriously a blast. It was basically like a barbecue (did I mention the complimentary hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, nachos, organic cookies, and ice chests full of drinks?) with a bunch of new friends, where some of the friends put down their nachos and play live music. Thanks for coming with us, Jordan and Kaitlynn! It was non-stop fun: from the funny guy on the light-rail who told us, "you two married very beautiful men...you betta watch yo backs!", to watching MJ's awesome dance moves, to when I slipped in the lilac oil at that one store and simultaneously ruined my favorite shoes AND got the loveliest purple knees I've had in years. :)

One more thing...
Today the puppy found a bug (we don't know what), and apparently it stung him. He was playing in our backyard for a while, then he looked into our living room window and I saw the beginnings of this swelling...

For reference, here is what he looks like normally.

Poor puppy...
