If this doesn't get you in the mood for Christmas, I don't know what will! (sorry, you have to pause the other music at the bottom)

A pirate says ARRRR!

I just had to share this new obsession of Britt's with you guys! He is so into pirates right now.. He got a sword, eye-patch, and piratey Mickey ears at Disneyland (in June) and all of a sudden he has become a pirate! There's an episode of his favorite show (The Backyardigans) that's all about pirates, and yesterday it was on and he has been singing the songs ever since. I don't know if you can tell, but he's singing, "A pirate says Arrrr" in the video...and that was the first thing I heard this morning when he woke up!

The First Weekend Away...

How old was your child the first time you left him/her overnight? Ours was 23 months old...that's almost two! He had a blast at Granny and Grandpa's house AND Grandma and Grandpa's house (which he usually just calls 'Jordan's house' :) ) So what were Britt's parents doing while he stayed in Snowflake?...we were at a rock concert, of course! My first one since I was 7 months pregnant! Justin has been so patient to only go to 2 or 3 shows with his friends and brother in the last two years. Seriously, that's the longest stretch since we were 15 or 16. Anyway, we added 3 more great bands to the list of bands we've seen, which makes for a grand total of...well...we lost track shortly after 100... It was an awesome weekend though! We had a blast and even got some Christmas shopping done. We got to see some of our friends, and we remembered what it was like to just get out of the car without having to: unbuckle a carseat, get the diaper-bag, put Britt's shoes back on, chase after the bouncy ball he just threw out the car door, get his "surfboard"(or whatever other toy he wants to drag around that day) and hear for ten minutes how he saw a cat fifteen minutes ago...-doesn't he sound so cute though? actually, we missed him a lot, but it's so nice to know he was having fun getting spoiled by his grandparents.
I don't expect many of you to have heard of the bands we saw, but if you're curious, check out some samples on our playlist at the bottom of the page. :)

The opening band is called 'The Blood Arm'...although, their arms weren't a bit bloody :)

They were followed by a British group called 'Art Brut'...and yes, their drummer played standing up!

Finally, 'The Hold Steady'...what a show!

Our Little Cookie Monster!

A few days ago, Britt went to the kitchen to get his drink of "wah-wer" and was taking a little too long, so when Daddy went to check on him, here's what he found! Britt pulled the bowl of chocolate chip cookies off the counter, opened the lid, and went to town! He had taken a bite out of EVERY SINGLE COOKIE! He started getting sleepy toward the end (who doesn't feel like taking a nap after a dozen cookies?), so he made himself comfy on the tile floor and just about fell asleep mid-cookie! He sure makes life interesting! :)

I sleep better with a cookie in my hand too!

Kaaryn's havin' a baby!

What a fun day Britt and I had Saturday! We went to Phoenix for my buddy Kaaryn's baby shower. It was so great to see a bunch of my friends from high school that I don't get to see very often. :) It's crazy to see how we've all changed. :) So congrats to Kaaryn and it was great seeing the rest of you too!

Tiffany, (Britt behind Tiff), Kaaryn, Bri, Cara(with baby Ryken), and Shannon

Cara helps Kaaryn show off her adorable belly! (side note: can you believe Cara had a baby of her own...4 months ago?!)

Auntie Shannon with 4-month-old Ryken

Tiffany and her 2-month-old, Makenna

Britt loves to push Ryken in the swing!

Just a fun picture of some of us at Magic Mountain on our Senior Trip...more than 6 years ago!

Kaaryn, Cara, Jessie, Shannon & Tiffany

I have to add, we missed you guys: Jessie, Rashel, Kriston, Jennifer, Kiri, Becky Brimhall and whoever else I forgot :)

Spooky-Ooky

I realize that it's four days after Halloween and these photos could have been up a lot sooner, but i've got a life. Give me a break. (No offense to anyone who had pictures up at 9:30 October 31st.) Britt decided this year that he wanted to be a mummy, or a "mumum". (Or was he just asking for money?) He learned how mummies walk, grunt, and have their guts taken out and put in little jars. He did plenty of walking and grunting, but his guts are still happily residing within his body. He had a great time dragging his mummy feet around town, visiting his grandparents (regular and great), and getting drunk off sugar...drunk enough to barf the next day, for real folks.
"I'm touching all the candy! I'm touching all the candy!"

Which is scarier? Britt's costume or Granny's light-up necklace? ;)

Justin had to work all day and go to class all night, so we went trick-or-treating to the hospital.

Britt and Daddy outside of "Daddy's hospital".

I love me some Tootsie Pops!

Kindly pause the playlist at the end of the page and enjoy a couple videos.
