The joys of little boys...

Long ago we discovered that Britt is a "Bug Man." He finds them all the time, and he's finally getting to where he will ask us before he lets them crawl on his hand...just in time!

This is a little gal he found a few days ago. As he puts it, "me own black weee-dow!" We were playing in his pool in our backyard and he decided that everything he could get his hands on needed to go into the pool, so after putting a sprinkler into the pool, he got really panicked and told me to help the "pider" (I guess it had been on the sprinkler)... then I saw the huge red hourglass on the underside of its abdomen! Yikes! But Britt being Britt, he just wanted me to save it because, "mom, piders don't swim!" We kept her in a jar for a few days, then let her go...far away from the house! :)

Here he is with a "little guy" he found outside. It's just a little beetle, not too dangerous. :)

The boy can't sleep at night without his rubber tarantula. Sweet, huh?

The only time he doesn't love bugs is if they touch him without him knowing it, hence his panic attack at his second birthday party.

One more funny story: Justin, Britt and I were in the back yard a few days ago, and a grasshopper jumped right onto Britt's hand. He had another view of it, he said, "Mommy, Daddy, Look! Me caught a baby grasshopper!" We couldn't help but say, "Nice catch, buddy!" :)

Jameson is just developing a love of bugs. I, on the other hand, have the exact opposite feeling for them. (I'll be honest, even reading this post really creeps me out. I know I'm a pansy.) I've been teaching that him we don't touch bugs because I'm terrified he'll find a black widow or a scorpion one of these days and try to play with it. Am I totally ruining my boys? Oh well.

WOW what a little boy he is for sure! That kinda scares me that I may be in for that with Ryken. YIKES! But either way Britt has some funny stuff to say and is so darn cute! :)

Ellee keeps pinching her fingers together lately and saying, "no, no, no!" I hope she won't find your black widow friend again...cuz that was scary! I still can't believe you let it go--even if it was away from your house. I don't think I'm that nice with poisonous things. Well...I probably wouldn't kill it myself--but, I'd for sure make Elliott or Britt or the next tough guy nearby do it. :)

And, that picture from his birthday is priceless!

I love the bugs!! The kids were laughing about him wanting you to save the spider. :D Although they were a little surprised that he likes bugs so much since they remember the freak out at his birthday. :D Jensen says that she will try and find him a good bug, one that he can keep. We'll see how that goes. :) She tends to get a little too attached to things like that! :P He's a cute boy!!! :)
