What made us laugh before this kid came along??

I was looking at a book of baby names recently, and the name 'Britt' had two meanings: the first was "man from Brittain" and the other was "humorous." Well, given that second meaning, I don't think we could have given our little guy a name that suited him better. :)

Here's what's been making me laugh all morning...
Last night, while out for our evening walk, we saw a skunk cross the street right in front of us. This brought on a conversation about how skunks are not animals that we get close to or touch, because they stink and they can make us stink too. So this morning Britt was telling his friend (who I babysit) all about the skunk and how smelly it was. When he was done he asked me, "Mom? Why skunks be so stinky?" I decided to encourage his imagination and replied, "Why do YOU think they're so stinky?" To which he said, "Me think bout that..." He thought for a few seconds, then answered, "Mom, skunks be stinky because they moms no wipe they booties." ....I guess that explains it :)

Some other things that have made us laugh lately...

Britt LOVES moustaches, and a few days ago when I asked him to throw away the ring from a new gallon of milk, he couldn't help but notice its moustache-potential. :) Although, it didn't quite stay when he tried to put it between his lip and nose, so he had to improvise.

One of his other favorites is the ABCs. His favorite TV show is Wheel of Fortune, because they yell a letter then "the lady" makes the letters show up. He loves to look for letters everywhere (especially T, E, O and X) and if he could, he would eat alphabet soup everyday. In this picture he found another E and, as you can see, he's in disbelief.

He's becoming quite a shutterbug. He loves to "take pictures" with the camera that hooked onto my old cell phone (how ancient is that? can you believe there was once a time when a camera wasn't built into your cell phone!?)

His new favorite game is "donalds." He doesn't really want to learn the rules, he just likes to line them up in interesting patterns or stand them up and make them knock each other down.

We're so glad we have our silly little Britt to make us laugh everyday. We can't wait to see what the next kid brings to our family. Maybe we should name him/her something that means "cleans the house and sleeps all night." Does anyone know of a name that means that?

Ha! He's so cute. Boys are the best :) Britt's mustache story reminds me of something. The other day I gave my kids some markers and paper in the back seat of the car. When We got to where ever we were going I noticed that they had found a new use for the markers. They had drawn mustaches on themselves. Destroy's was pretty good, but Search's was very colorful and all over the place. It was pretty cute! But also a pain to clean up. Good thing they were washable!

I can't believe you haven't had more comments on this post! It's stinkin' hilarious! Britt is such a funny boy! And...if you find a name that means those things--will you clue me in? I could use it. :)

What a funny boy!! And I guess that name is perfect for him!! Looks like you're gonna have to be careful what you name this next baby since the name seems to dictate the personality. :D

Oh, and don't let him try to wipe the skunks bottom!! That wouldn't be good... :o

Haha...I hadn't heard that story about the skunk. Oh that Britt. We missed you guys this weekend. Look at my blog and see what I learned to do. You will be so proud. Except my last post is kind of messed up. Oh well. Did you hear the good news? I have Sept 30th off. The bad news is I have to work Oct 1st. We'll figure something out though.

Cute kiddo!

Oh...by the way...doesn't everyone know that the name for "He who cleans the house in an immaculate manner and sleeps soundly through the night" (among other AMAZING traits) is one that you're all very
familiar with...'Blake Lee'

I can't believe you guys forgot that for even a second...I mean...especially being related to one and all. Of course, 'Blake Lee' also may mean sleeping with your eyes and mouth half open through the night, and having to dance wildly while you clean the house...but really...could there be a sweeter name? I think not!
